Simcenter Flomaster

Ensure safety and efficiency in the design and performance of complex fluid systems of any scale by using the leading system level thermo-fluid simulation tool. Simcenter Flomaster™ software allows engineers to virtually simulate and optimize fluid flows to ensure efficient performance in gas, liquid, and two-phase systems. Executed early in the development cycle, this can improve your time to market and reduce costs by addressing issues when changes can be most effective.

Our product offers in-built empirical data, a large library of components and sample systems to increase engineering productivity. The steady-state and transient solvers allow for rapid component sizing, pressure, temperature, and flow studies system-wide, and monitoring for system performance issues during real world operating conditions such as pressure surge. As part of a large engineering process, Simcenter Flomaster tightly couples with Simcenter FLOEFD for when more detail is needed for a given component and with other system level tools through Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI) for total system of system analysis.

Powerful transient solver

◆ Fully steady-state and transient simulation of incompressible and compressible systems with heat transfer analysis

◆ Pressure fluctuation analysis, temperature and fluid flow prediction

◆ Extensive catalog of customizable component models with built-in experience data

Open and scalable architecture

◆ Create a custom component model

◆ Create scripts to control components or networks

◆ The open API structure allows integration into the user product development process, including internal code, CAE, manufacturing and optimization tools

◆ The Functional Model Interface (FMI) supports model export and co-simulation, allowing Flomaster models to be shared among other CAE tools through independent model exchange standards during the design process.

Secure traceable data

◆ Securely store network, performance data, components and results in industry standard relational databases

◆ Audit trail with "rollback" function and tracking of model design history

◆ Management control of user's access to project data

◆ Database synchronization enables engineers to safely work offline from the server on site

Design optimization capability

◆ The "experiment" function in Simcenter Flomaster enables users to perform excellent "what if" analysis of one-dimensional thermal fluids.

◆ Using the Latin Square algorithm,Simcenter Flomaster can help users generate unique combinations of distributed input values between specific ranges. This function lays an ideal foundation for creating meta-models and response surfaces that characterize the response of the Simcenter Flomaster system

◆ Monte Carlo simulation can be performed to generate simulation results based on the probability distribution generated from the average and standard deviation of the selected input parameters. This allows checking the impact of small changes in input values and enables Simcenter Flomaster to be used in risk analysis and quality control environments.

1D-3D design and simulation

◆ Using CAD2FM, engineers can use 3D geometry in NX, Solid Edge, CATIA, Creo, and Solidworks to automatically generate system-level models in Simcenter Flomaster, reducing network creation time by up to 95%.

◆ Simulation-based characteristics (SBC) allow the use of 3D CFD in Simcenter FLOEFD to perform thermal characteristics or pressure drop characteristics for unique or novel component-level designs. This feature can then be used inside Simcenter Flomaster to more accurately analyze the behavior of the entire system.

◆ OneSim is a tightly coupled co-simulation workflow that can treat the 3D CFD model in Simcenter FLOEFD as part of the 1D CFD Simcenter Flomaster network. Such a workflow can apply the accuracy of 3D CFD simulation to parts, otherwise the parts may be oversimplified when expressed as system-level components.
